Jesus taught another parable saying, "The kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. Night and day while he is asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he doesn't understand how it happens."
"As soon as the grain is ready, the farmer comes and harvests it with a sickle for the harvest time has come."
The God of the Bible states that He is the only true God. He is the creator of all that exists in the universe, which He spoke into existence out of nothing. God intends for His Kingdom to contain people who worship Him and bring Him glory. This Kingdom is growing all over the Earth and it happens whether we are asleep or awake, because God is the proactive party. We don’t make it happen. God does. We, as followers of Christ, have been given the privilege of working alongside Almighty God helping sow the seed by sharing the Gospel, but it is not we who make the seeds sprout and grow to maturity. That is the work of God in the person of the Holy Spirit.
Bill Bright said often, "Successful witnessing is sharing Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit and leaving the results to God."
I am so glad that the eternal destiny of other people does not depend on my persuasive ability to convince them to receive Christ. That is all in God's court. If I help sow, He causes the seed of the Gospel message to sprout a leaf, then grow a head of grain, and ultimately mature into a new believer that develops into spiritual maturity.
God is the active party in all this. We just get to work alongside all of God’s other workers in the field and the harvest will happen in ways far beyond our understanding.
No pressure. Just throw some seed and the Lord of the Harvest will cause some of it to sprout and grow into more multiplying disciples for God's Kingdom.
